It's Trauma, Not Drama: A Guide for Advocates from a Survivor Advocate's Perspective
In this session, survivor and advocate Melanie Barton shares the small moments that had outsized impact on her healing from sexual abuse. Drawing on lived experience and professional training, she equips professionals to better support children, teens, caregivers, and families from a survivor-centered perspective.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most of our sessions are designed for a 75-minute time slot, but they can be shortened or expanded to fit your agenda. Most can be adapted to run anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours, so just let us know how much time you have.
-
Yes. All of our speakers are comfortable presenting virtually, which means our topics can be delivered as a live webinar or virtual conference session. We’re happy to work with whatever platform you’re using.
-
We recommend reaching out as early as possible, ideally 6–9 months before your event, since our speakers’ calendars fill up quickly. If your event is sooner, contact us anyway, and we’ll do our best to make it work.
-
Yes. Most of our sessions can be adapted to your audience, setting, and time slot. Let us know who will be in the room and what you’d like them to take away, and we’ll shape the session around your goals.
-
Fees vary by speaker. We typically ask hosts to cover travel costs, including airfare, ground transportation, lodging, and per diem, plus an honorarium or speaker fee. Fees are per event, not per session. If you’re working with a limited budget, let us know, and we’ll do our best to find options that fit.
-
Yes to both. Since our fees are per event, a speaker can present additional sessions at your conference at no extra cost, such as a keynote and a breakout, or a series of workshops. You can also book speakers from different disciplines for multiple sessions or a panel, and we’ll help you put together a lineup that fits your event’s theme and audience.

Our sessions have consistently been approved for continuing education credit. We’re happy to provide any materials organizers or attendees need to apply, such as session descriptions, learning objectives, speaker bios, and agendas.
