Rise of the Machines: AI in Abuse Investigation and Response

Full Description: With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, new digital threats are on the rise, presenting unique challenges for multidisciplinary teams. This workshop will examine the investigative and prosecutorial implications of these emerging technologies, particularly in cases involving sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by a former prosecutor, this session will explore key technological advances,  investigative considerations, and legal implications for AI-driven offenses.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand and address  the investigative challenges posed by “deepfakes”and other synthetic material.

  • Articulate key strategies for the authentication of AI-generated evidence.

  • Summarize current utilization of AI technologies by sexual offenders.

  • Describe key technological developments and systemic implications for generative artificial intelligence.
