This course taught by Det. Gary Weaver (White Hall Police Department) and Robert Peters (former prosecuting attorney) builds the core skills needed to interview and interrogate suspects in child sexual offense cases. Scenario-based practice and real-time feedback reinforce skills participants can use immediately.

Participants will learn the traits and habits that make interviewers effective, clarify the practical differences between interviews and interrogations, and understand how admissions differ from confessions. The course emphasizes rapport building and communication strategies that keep conversations productive while protecting case integrity. Participants also examine common psychopathic tactics and how to respond without losing control of the conversation.
