  • 866 Chestnut Ridge Road Morgantown, West Virginia, 26505 United States (map)

$249/person | 8 hours in-service credit

This intensive course taught by Det. Gary Weaver (White Hall Police Department) and Robert Peters (former prosecuting attorney) equips law enforcement to identify, understand, and address AI-related threats while using AI technology ethically and effectively in their own investigative work.

Participants will learn to craft effective AI prompts that strengthen investigative analysis and to integrate AI tools responsibly into casework, from early analysis through lead development. The course emphasizes the limitations, biases, and misuse risks of AI-generated material so investigators can rely on these tools without compromising their cases. Participants also examine how offenders use AI to create, distribute, or conceal child sexual abuse material, and practice techniques for identifying and authenticating AI-generated content to maintain evidentiary integrity.
