  • Lighthouse Activity Center 75 Rebecca Street Shinnston, WV, 26431 United States (map)

This course taught by Det. Gary Weaver (White Hall Police Department) and Robert Peters (Coursing Justice) builds the core skills needed to navigate modern search warrant requirements and the complexities of digital evidence. Scenario-based practice and real-time feedback reinforce skills participants can use immediately.

Participants will learn the constitutional foundations of search and seizure, how to establish a strong factual nexus, and the anatomy of a defensible affidavit. The course emphasizes practical strategies for drafting warrants for cloud storage and social media while identifying key digital identifiers like IMEI and IP addresses. Participants also work through actual serving scenarios, document digital chains of custody, and begin developing a professional CV to support their credentials for expert testimony.
