Interview and Interrogation of Sex Offenders
This course strengthens suspect-interview skills in child sexual offense cases through scenario-based practice and real-time feedback. Participants learn what effective interviewers do, how interviews differ from interrogations, admissions vs. confessions, rapport and communication strategies, and how to counter common psychopathic manipulation tactics while protecting case integrity.

Gary Weaver (White Hall Police Department) and Robert Peters (Coursing Justice), this course strengthens suspect-interview skills in child sexual offense cases through scenario-based practice and real-time feedback. Participants learn what effective interviewers do, how interviews differ from interrogations, admissions vs. confessions, rapport and communication strategies, and how to counter common psychopathic manipulation tactics while protecting case integrity.

Differentiate interviews from interrogations and choose an approach aligned with the investigative goal and case stage.
Elicit and document accurate, usable information by using effective rapport and communication techniques.
Distinguish admissions from confessions and apply each appropriately in planning, questioning, and reporting.

Apply course methods in realistic scenarios and demonstrate measurable improvement through coached repetition.
